Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains when Bug Circuit charges, how refunds work for our paid plans, and how to cancel ongoing security cover. Because our security testing is performed manually by human engineers, refund eligibility depends on how much of that human work has already been done when you ask.

1.Scope and who we are
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all purchases made through the Bug Circuit online checkout at bugcircuit.com, operated by WEB CODE STORE (PVT) LTD, a company registered in Sri Lanka (company registration no. PV 00318975). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
It covers our three plans, each of which applies to a single verified domain: PULSE, CIRCUIT, and SIGNAL. It explains what is refundable, what is not, and why.
Governing law and jurisdiction for this policy are set out in our Terms of Service (Sri Lanka). Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer under applicable law; where such rights apply, they take precedence over anything stated here.
2.Digital services, delivery, and returns
Bug Circuit sells digital professional services only. There are no physical products, nothing is shipped to you, and there are no physical returns. Because there is no product to return, the refund terms in this policy apply in place of a physical-goods return/exchange policy.
Delivery is digital and effectively immediate: as soon as your payment is confirmed, your plan is activated on your account and you can request your audit. The manual security audit and its written report are then delivered to you digitally — typically within a few business days of an engineer beginning work — and you are kept updated in your dashboard and by email as your request progresses. No goods are dispatched or couriered.
3.Our plans and pricing
So there is no ambiguity about what is being paid for, here is what each plan includes:
- PULSE — Free. A manual yes/no verdict on whether your site has any critical bugs, reviewed in our standard (non-prioritised) queue. No written report. Because PULSE is free, no charge is taken and there is nothing to refund.
- CIRCUIT — $49, one-time. A manual security audit performed by a human security engineer, with a full written report of every vulnerability found. Includes premium support and a named contact.
- SIGNAL — $299. Everything in CIRCUIT, plus we fix the high and critical issues we find and provide 3 months of security cover. Cover can be extended in 3-month blocks at $36 per block. Includes premium support and a named contact.
All security testing is carried out manually by human security engineers. Only the initial passive reconnaissance is automated, and it never attacks your site. This human-labour model is central to how our refunds work, as explained below.
4.When a charge is taken and orders confirmed
Payment is collected at checkout through our online checkout, which supports discount vouchers. Card and account details are handled by third-party payment processors (for example, PayHere and PayPal); Bug Circuit does not store your full card number. Prices are shown in your local currency where we can determine it — Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) for customers in Sri Lanka, and an approximate local estimate elsewhere. Your order is settled (actually charged) in LKR for customers in Sri Lanka and in US dollars (USD) for customers in other countries; the exact amount and currency you will be charged are shown to you at checkout before you pay. Charges appear on your statement as "Web Professional Service".
Fully-covered ($0) orders — for example, a free PULSE request or an order reduced to $0 by a voucher — activate instantly. All other (paid) orders are reviewed and confirmed by our staff before the audit work is scheduled.
A paid order does not mean a human has started work. Work begins only once an engineer picks up your audit from the queue, which is the trigger point for the refund rules that follow.
5.Satisfaction / cooling-off window (before work starts)
You may request a full refund of a CIRCUIT or SIGNAL purchase within 14 days of payment, provided a human security engineer has not yet begun your manual audit.
If both conditions are met — within 14 days and no audit work started — we refund 100% of the amount you paid, no questions asked. This is our satisfaction guarantee for customers who change their mind, ordered by mistake, or no longer need the service before we have committed engineering time.
6.Once the manual audit has started or been delivered
Because every audit is real, hands-on work by a qualified human engineer, fees for work already performed are non-refundable. Once we have committed that time, we cannot recover it, and the report we produce has been genuinely earned. This is standard for professional services delivered by human labour.
In practice:
- CIRCUIT — once an engineer has begun your audit, the $49 fee is non-refundable, because the deliverable is the human review and written report. After the report is delivered, no refund is due.
- SIGNAL — once the audit has started, the audit portion of the fee is non-refundable on the same basis. The remediation and ongoing-cover portion is handled under the pro-rata cancellation rules in Section 6.
If you believe the delivered work was materially defective — for example, the report was not produced, or was not the service described — contact us and we will review it in good faith. This is a quality remedy, not a change-of-mind refund, and it does not depend on the 14-day window.
7.Cancelling SIGNAL cover early (pro-rata refunds)
SIGNAL includes 3 months of security cover (extendable in 3-month blocks at $36 each). You may cancel your ongoing cover at any time by contacting us.
If you cancel a current cover period early, we refund the portion attributable to unused whole months of cover, calculated pro rata from the applicable block price, minus the value of any work already performed in that period (for example, remediation of high or critical issues we have already fixed for you).
- Only whole unused months are refundable; a partially-used month is treated as used.
- The initial audit and report portion of SIGNAL is not part of the pro-rata calculation — that is covered by Section 5.
- Cover you have already consumed, and remediation already delivered, are not refundable.
We will show you the calculation before processing so the amount is clear.
8.Extension blocks and no auto-renewal
SIGNAL cover does not renew automatically. We will not charge you for a further 3-month block without your instruction. When a cover period is approaching its end, we will notify you and you decide whether to purchase another block at $36.
Because there is no silent auto-renewal, you will not be surprised by a recurring charge. If you take no action, cover simply ends at the close of the paid period. A purchased but not-yet-started extension block that you cancel before it begins is fully refundable under Section 4.
9.Vouchers and discounts
Discount vouchers reduce the price you pay at checkout. Refunds are always calculated on the net amount actually charged after any voucher, never on the pre-discount list price.
- An order fully covered by a voucher ($0 paid) has nothing to refund in money terms; a cancellation simply stops the service.
- Vouchers are generally single-use and are not redeemable for cash. Where a refund is issued, we are not obliged to reinstate a used voucher, though we may do so at our discretion for goodwill.
- If a voucher was applied in error or in breach of its terms, we may adjust the order or the refund accordingly.
10.How to request a refund or cancel
To request a refund or to cancel ongoing SIGNAL cover, email [email protected] or contact us through premium support (paid-plan customers can also reach their named contact). Please include the domain, the plan, and the order or payment reference so we can locate your purchase quickly.
We aim to acknowledge refund and cancellation requests within a few business days and to make a decision promptly. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through our third-party payment processor. The time for the funds to appear depends on that processor and your bank, and is typically within 5–10 business days after we approve the refund.
11.Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at [email protected] — we can almost always resolve it faster than a formal dispute.
Opening a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or the payment processor instead of contacting us may lead to the affected service and any ongoing SIGNAL cover being suspended while the dispute is investigated. Where a chargeback is raised for work that was validly delivered and is non-refundable under this policy, we reserve the right to contest it and to provide the payment processor with records of the authorised order and delivered work.
12.Changes and contact
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated to active customers.
